Wood

The hardwood floor has been delivered (lyptus wood) and Ikea stuff still in boxes.
The interior doors have been installed. Tiles are being installed this week.
Next week, end of painting and kitchen puzzle.
The plancher a ete livre (du lyptus). Les portes interieures ont ete mises. Cette semaine c'est carrelage. La semaine prochaine fin de la peinture et debut du puzzle Ikea.

Finally, the electric co showed up and hooked us up...
La compagnie locale d'electricite nous a finalement raccorde. On a le courant!

Where is CMP?

Where is Central Maine Power? Still no electricity in the house! It's been over a month that we should be powered... They were supposed to come last Monday and now it's 'maybe Friday'. Is this what they called being "off the grid"...?

Oú est Central Maine Power, la société locale d'electricité? Ils devaient nous raccorder au réseau electrique mais toujours rien.

Busy day today

finitions, finitions. Today, Rick was finishing the first coat of paint and the Ikea guys delivered the kitchen and other good stuff... Soon we'll start the assembly of the 3,000lbs of furniture!

On en est au finition maintenant. Ça prend du temps. Aujourd'hui Rick le peintre a fini la première couche de peinture et Ikea a livré la cuisine et autres trucs... Bientôt nous allons commençé l'assemblage de la tonne et demi de meubles de chez Ikea...!

Ikea Truck got stuck

our friend Emery from C&E came to the rescue... and moved some snow around to get the Ikea truck back in track. The truck slided on the ice, went sideways and almost hit the roof on the right side of the picture! We are glad Emery was around plowing snow...

Houde is the House

Tim Houde, the drywall magician is working on our walls. What a job! And he had the drywall glued (and not screwed) on the studs. The walls are 'impeccable'. No marks for screws.

Les murs en placo sont fait par Tim Houde. Il est vraiment trés bon. Les plaques de placo ont été collées au milieu sur les supports en bois et non vissées. Pas de marques de vis sur les grands murs. Impeccables.
