Electricity

Emery from C&E is using a big jack hammer to dig the frozen earth. The underground service for electricity is installed.
Pour installer l'arrivee du courant electrique sous terre, on a du utiliser un gros marteau piqueur pour ouvrir le sol gele.

Murs

Sheetrock is being hung now. Bedroom floor is done. They will probably done by Thursday.
Les murs en placo sont installes. Ce sera fini d'ici jeudi.

Foam

Today insulation phase is finished. Foam has been spread in the exterior walls.
Isolation faite. De la mousse a ete projete sur les murs exterieurs creant une barriere thermique.

Ikea

Yesterday we spent the day and a lot of money at Ikea. The kitchen cabinets are ordered as well as closet elements and doors. Ikea is the way to go for kitchen and walking closet furnitures. We bought 1.5 tons of stuff at Ikea and they will deliver to the house in Maine in January.
Hier, longue journee a Ikea a Boston. La cuisine est commande et tout un tas d'autres meubles a installer. On a achete 1,5 tonnes de meubles! Livraison pour debut Janvier.

This week will change the house

This weekend was the mad wiring project. Everything had to be done so they can complete the insulation and start installing the sheetrock...walls will be done Friday!
Ce weekend cablage des murs de folie. Tout devait etre fini hier soir pour que l'isolation puisse etre finie ce soir. Demain le placo commence. Les murs seront finis vendredi !!youpiii

Friday is 'isolation'

Today the insulation team is in the house, spraying foam on the walls.
Aujourd'hui c'est isolation. De la mousse isolante est appliquée sur les murs.

Wednesday evening

Mercredi soir et toujours bon sur le timing. L'inspecteur de la ville est venu cet aprem et a approuvé le travail. Tout est au code, on peut fermer les murs. L'electricien a encore du boulot et le plombier doit encore installe les tuyaux pour le chauffage. La fosse septique n'est pas encore finie. Et je travaille sur mes fils de haut-parleurs et autres trucs...
L'isolation est prevu pour demain et vendredi. Placo pour lundi.

Wednesday evening and we are still on schedule. The Code inspector came this afternoon and he was satisfied with the work being done. We can close the walls.
The electrician still has a lot to do and the plumber team needs to install the piping for the heating system. The septic isn't finished yet. And I am working on speaker wires and other good stuff...
Insulation is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and Friday. Sheetrock for Monday.

Dave just finished an interesting structure

IKEA is the official supplier of the kitchen cabinets. We are going there Monday. Dave just built us a wall structure so we can slide in our IKEA food pantry cabinets.

IKEA est le fournisseur officiel de nos meubles de cuisine. Dave vient de finir une structure qui acceuillera un meuble. Il a eu du mal a le faire pour etre sur que le meuble rentre bien et fasse beau.

We are back on schedule. Dave Dardano looks happy, isn't he... He is running a good crew!
On est en ligne avec le planning. Dave Dardano est content de son equipe et esperons que tout va rester dans les temps.

Tim is finishing to work on the big window.
The week is starting well.
The plumbing team is in action. Inspection is scheduled for Thursday. Justin from the Town of Falmouth stopped by today and looked happy with what he saw. Nice to work with him.
John Lotfey and the team of Lotfey Electric arrived this afternoon and are going from the top floor down. They are also scheduled to be done by Wednesday evening.
Emery of C&E Earthworks was also hard at work. He has a lot of things on his list this week between the underground service, septic system and other things to move around the house.
And I am working on wiring for speakers and other good stuff.
Friday is insulation. We need to be on schedule.

Monday December 7

La neige a surpris l'equipe. Ils travaillent encore plus vite pour finir le toit avant mercredi et la prochaine tempete de neige et des temperatures plus froides (genre -4 dans la journee).
Snow on the ground since Saturday. The team got surprised and they are now working hard on the roof to beat the next snow storm on Wednesday.

Change of plan

A lot of rain this morning. So no activity ... Yesterday was such a big day anyway!
Today we picked faucets, bathroom stuff, etc.
Tomorrow, end of roof work. Next week, earth work around and plumbing...

De la pluie ce matin, beaucoup d'eau. Donc pas d'activite sur le chantier. Hier etait une grosse journee donc repos merite!
Aujourd'hui nous avons choisi les robinets et les accessoires de salle de bain.
Demain le travail reprend. La semaine prochaine, le terrassier arrangera autour de la maison ainsi que la fosse septique. Et le plombier commence.
